Michelle Boykin Matthews
Attorney
Michelle was born and raised in Columbia, South Carolina. In 2009, Michelle received a Bachelor of Arts in Government and Spanish from Wofford College and graduated magna cum laude. While at Wofford, she was invited to participate in the Presidential Seminar (an Honors Class) and was a member of Gamma Xi of Sigma Delta Pi Spanish Honor Society.
In 2012, she received her law degree from the University of South Carolina. While in law school, she was the Articles Editor for the South Carolina Journal of International Law and Business. She was also published in the Family Law Quarterly, a publication of the American Bar Association. At graduation, she received the I.M. Goldberg Award from the South Carolina Bar for her interest in family law.
Upon graduation from law school, Michelle became an associate attorney for a law firm in Lexington, SC. She joined Susan R. Strom in 2016, where she gained a wide variety of experience exclusive to family court, from handling complex custody and divorce cases in the courtroom to negotiating a fair resolution in mediation.
When Michelle is not in the office fighting for her client’s families, you can find her spending time with her own. She and her husband are active in the United Methodist Church, where her Husband serves as a local pastor. Her family also loves to travel and explore new places.
